Over 14.8m US children infected with COVID-19

LOS ANGELES / NEW YORK / MOSCOW – Over 14.8 million children in the United States have tested positive for COVID-19 since the onset of the pandemic, according to the latest report by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association.

Long COVID "has forced millions of people, in Oregon and across the country, to make hard, private choices about how to survive on diminished income," said the the latest report by the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Children's Hospital Association

Nearly 163,000 of these cases have been added in the past four weeks, according to the report.

For the week ending Oct 13, nearly 28,000 child COVID-19 cases were reported, a decrease from the previous week.

More than 200,000 people in the US state of Oregon have likely experienced long COVID-19, causing significant health issues and financial pain, reported Oregon Public Broadcasting on Monday.

Long COVID "has forced millions of people, in Oregon and across the country, to make hard, private choices about how to survive on diminished income," said the report.

Russia

Russia registered 9,474 new COVID-19 cases in the past 24 hours, taking the nationwide tally to 21,324,431, the official monitoring and response center said Tuesday.

The center said that the nationwide death toll increased by 91 to 389,084, while the number of recoveries grew by 20,252 to 20,638,610.
