Powerball Jackpot Climbs to $47 Million Following Yesterday’s No-Winner Draw

The Jackpot Has Reached $47M for the Saturday Drawing

The May 6 Powerball drawing did not produce a jackpot winner, allowing the top prize to continue increasing and begin a new cycle. No Match 5 prizes were awarded either, but such a pause is normal after last week’s extraordinary results.

To provide context, the previous week featured two separate Powerball jackpot winners and dozens of Match 5 prize payouts due to an unusual combination of numbers.

The winning numbers drawn on May 6 were 18, 27, 51, 65, and 68, along with the red Powerball number 5. The Power Play multiplier applied during this draw was 3x.

A correct match of all six numbers would have resulted in a $31 million prize—either as an annuity over time or a $14 million lump sum upfront for a hypothetical winner.

While no jackpot or Match 5 prize was claimed, some players matched four white ball numbers plus the Powerball to win the third-tier prize. Nine players received $50,000 each, while two others won $150,000 thanks to the Power Play multiplier.

With the jackpot remaining unclaimed, it has now grown to $47 million, with a cash value of $21.1 million.

Last Week Saw Players Hit Two Powerball Jackpots

As noted, last week was especially eventful for Powerball players across the United States. On April 29, two separate individuals matched all six numbers and split the $143 million jackpot.

Even more remarkably, that same drawing also awarded over 80 Match 5 prizes ranging from $1 million to $2 million. This happened because the drawn numbers aligned exactly with one full column of numbers commonly selected by players who often choose entire columns on their tickets, creating numerous new millionaires.

In the very next drawing, Powerball once again awarded a jackpot when two other players matched the winning numbers and shared a $20 million prize. With this addition, the total number of Powerball jackpots won in 2026 has reached five.
