(AsiaGameHub) – Gambling business owners continued to hold a strong presence on the annual ranking of the UK’s wealthiest individuals and families.
UK.- The Sunday Times Rich List 2026 has been released, and once again it includes several figures from the gambling industry. Some moved up in the rankings, while others slipped a little.
The list ranks the UK’s 350 most affluent individuals and families based on “identifiable wealth”. It is compiled by a team of researchers using estimates from public records, land registries, and other publicly accessible information. Asset price fluctuations and the lack of visibility into bank account holdings and potential overseas assets have sparked some debate about its accuracy.
The 2026 list estimates that the combined wealth of these 350 entries is £784bn—roughly a quarter of the national GDP and a 1.4% increase from last year. The list is topped by Sanjay and Dheeraj Hinduja, who have interests in oil, gas, banking, and transport, with an estimated fortune of £38bn.
The Coates family, including Bet365 co-CEOs Denise and John, remain the highest-ranked personalities from the gambling sector. They dropped one spot to 17th overall, even though their estimated wealth rose by £283m to £9.73bn. Bet365 has recently expanded into France and Michigan, and the family also owns Stoke City FC.
Mark Scheinberg, the Israeli-Canadian founder of Flutter’s PokerStars, moved up one place to 37th on the list, though his estimated fortune dipped slightly to £4.89bn. Fred and Peter Done, owners of Warrington-based Betfred, jumped 11 positions to 46th after their estimated wealth grew by nearly £700m to £3.61bn.
Lord Grantchester, whose family has historical ties to The Pools, fell eight places to 139th, with his holdings estimated to stay at £1.2bn. Meanwhile, PartyGaming founder Ruth Parasol climbed to 198th place with £780m. The company she founded is now owned by Entain.
Will Rosseff, a director at bet365, reportedly saw his wealth increase by £12m to £591m, placing him at 239th.
