In the United States, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board (PGCB) has introduced Behind the Bets in PA, a new podcast and YouTube video series. The initiative aims to provide insights into the regulation, operations, and societal impact of the gaming industry.
The series will include discussions with PGCB personnel and representatives from the industry. Topics covered will encompass the development and enforcement of gaming regulations, evolving gambling trends, responsible gambling practices, and the economic and employment effects within the Commonwealth.
Audio episodes will be accessible on various podcast platforms, while the video format will be available on the PGCB’s official YouTube channel. The inaugural episode featured Kevin O’Toole, executive director of the PGCB, as the guest. New content will be released on a regular basis.
Doug Harbach, director of communications at the PGCB and host of the shows, stated: “The goal of this series is to enhance transparency and offer Pennsylvanians a behind-the-scenes look at how gaming is responsibly regulated in the Commonwealth. As the gaming environment continues to change, this podcast and video series will serve as an accessible resource for the public to stay informed.”
In March, the agency launched a campaign aimed at raising awareness about underage gambling issues.
